First, I've heard of dry heat, but never dry cold! Or whatever "this" is....

It's been FREEZING here, and I've lived through some terribly frigid PA winters. Granted, I had ample warning (and a parka or two).

I had planned to find a place to go panning for gold, but I'm afraid I'd be too cold....maybe later in the week.

Regardless, I've done a little thrift store shopping. Fun times so far, of course I need some feedback and questions answered.

$6.99 necklace - 925, not familiar with the seahorse makers mark tag - anyone know the designer?

$5.99 earrings - 925

$3.50 thimble - sterling - any input? Not an area I normally purchase. It was too cute to pass up.

$4.50 snail pin - I've mentioned this before, but I'll say it again - I LOVE LOVE LOVE bug pins!!! - now I'm tasked with figuring out who the designer is on this one. I've done my best to get a good close up, this is as good as I can get on the go.

$6.99 bangle bracelet - GF part of a lot - this is the only one that appears to be stamped and precious metal.

$0.75 Superhero pin - ? Who is this? Value (If any...)

$2.99 softball mitt - any idea on the value? Wilson USA

I believe it was noted wag Sam Clemens (a.k.a. Mark Twain) who said that the coldest winter he ever experienced was a summer in San Francisco.

That baseball glove is a curiosity. I'm confused by the "Soft Ball" on it. The style is similar to very early baseball gloves. I had a similar one in the early 1960s. I don't know when "softball" came into being but softball as it is known today uses a much larger ball than a baseball so this glove would seem inadequate to the task. I have no idea of value but I know that some early baseball gloves can be very valuable.

Look up inside that thimble for anymore marks. Lots of info on web for thimbles as there are many collectors. Last one's I sold on ebay went to a lady that had a beautiful home in the south of France next to the Mediterranean. I had here address so I could see the town on Google were she lived. The place had palm trees and flowers in every place you could grow flowered..... SAN FRAN' I lived in that era in the mid 70's. Pretty bazaar place, but beautiful as well.

Really nice finds. The thimble is awesome.
It amazes me how y'all know what to look for outside of the jewelry. I wandered away from the jewelery today, but I have no idea what to look for other than a Sony walkman and some red line hot wheels (or was it matchbox cars?).
