What does this mean?

Back in June I found some great jewelry pieces. (That was when I got my platinum ring.) The locket we figured out came from England. I was thinking that maybe this one does too, but I can't find any information on it. I've never seen the star / 2500 / AL before. And then I have no idea who the maker is. I believe it may say A & T .. there might be a small r after the T. (I know what the 750 means. That's about all.)

so what does that part in the middle mean? Anyone recognize the designer?
