So today I stop at a second hand store and find a vintage baby cradle. No markings or names showing, but I knew it was old when I saw the horsehair mattress in the bottom. The quick research I did on the way home would seem to point towards 1750-1825. Anyone have any info/ideas/knowledge they would like to share? image.jpg image.jpg

How are the parts joined? A picture of the wear on the base and joints would help in dating it. Also type of woods used can help pinpoint the area it was made in.

It appears the outside was painted at some time since it was made, so the wear is kind of hard to tell. The wood under the mattress is exposed but I have yet to determine the kind it is. I may have to take it to an antique dealer to find out. Thanks for the thoughts.
