I am trying to get a sense of the market and value for this guide. Nothing come up in an eBay search. It is covered by worthpoint but I do not have a subscription. A google searched revealed one sale on eBay UK for well over $1600, but the pictures do not come up.

Thanks

Wow, this looks to be a great find. From what some of the others are saying, this copy was reproduced in 1944 by the US government for the invasion of Normandy.

This copy sold for $1885
Original 1939 Michelin Guide US WWII Military Intelligence D-Day Normandy France (04/20/2013)

This one sold for $3938
Original rare 1939 Michelin Guide US WW2 II Military Intelligence D-Day Normandy (05/29/2013)

Where did you find it? Any association to a WWII veteran? Worthpoint can be taken with a grain of salt, but this definitely merits further study. I hope it is the great find it appears to be!

Thanks for all the help. I must have priced it too low. Listed it on ebay as Buy It Now for $2499 yesterday. Overnight I received a number of offers that I wasn't aware of because I was asleep, plus a payment from someone who decided to pay the asking price. A pleasant surprise this morning, to say the least. I suppose there's a lesson here about pricing things on ebay, but I am happy despite not receiving top dollar.

Do you remember what you paid for it? I'd be freaking out over a $2500 sale!

Nice score! I just sold an unsmoked GBD pipe from the 70s for $175.00 within 40 minutes of listing it. The pipe expert I talked to said it would sell for about $40. Looks like a used one could sell for the price I listed the unsmoked. We live and learn! But you can't beat a lesson where you get the $$ you asked for! Congrats again!

Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered. All the people who tried to get a steal of a deal lost out.
