I would assume so, as long as you didn't sell it to a minor :)

I don't think you can sell full bottles on eBay. They have to be empty. I found some old ones a while ago and I sold them on my neighbor. Made three times what I paid for them. But they were bottles of whiskey that were sealed I don't remember what kind of think one was Jim beam. but I'm pretty sure you cannot sell them online.

any relation to Chong ?

When I was a Teenager there was a Man in a small Town not far from me.
He made his own Wine, & put it in large plastic Soda Bottles.

He would sell us the plastic Soda Bottles any time we wanted I believe $5.00
or $10 :laughing7:

I don't think that would fly with Liquor Control :tongue3:

there is a loop hole where licensed auctioneers can auction them as Collectables.
Probably age Matters.

But as others said though the Internet & Mail would need to be done illegally

Craigslist will also flag the posting but I have sold some that way. You do not need a liquor license to sell a sealed bottle of liquor that the taxes have already been paid on. A couple of forums online specialize in selling liquor. I was lucky enough to score and sell some pappy van winkle 20yr old before

Find a local wine dealer and ask about collectors. You will get much more for an UN-opened bottle!!

I may be completely wrong, but I think Calvert and Seagrams are mid grade whiskey at best, so I don't know if they are particularly collectible. The added age might have increased their value though, I'm far from an expert.

I spotted a lady at one of those community yard sales asking at every house if they had bottles of booze for sale.

I agree. the 1970 tax stamp (add the fact it's not broken)
may be collectable to some though

They might be worth a little more to someone, but it's the aging that happens in a barrel that counts for whiskey. Once it is bottled, the aging pretty much stops.

Interesting idea, but probably wont fly if someone drops a dime on ya. Most states and municipalities require a license to distribute alcohol, and tend to clearly include the language "to give away" in their ordinances to prevent people from doing exactly what you propose. In reality most people wont give a rip, but it just takes one liquor store or tavern owner who wants to gripe about it to earn you a visit from the local PD. Like you are really going to put them out of business.......
