WWII trench knife ?

I picked this up last weekend estate sale trying to get a good estimate on price what they fluctuate so much on the different varieties wondering if I could get some help to get a little closer on the price range it has US 8-m Ithaca written on it and what blade is on it I see that some have 3M blades this blade is unmarked

I think the auction hurt this guy's listing and he may have gotten more for it if it was listed differently. Timing of the listing probably played a factor too. I would start an auction at like $200 then drop it like 20% each time you relist until it sells.

I have sold several bayonets and military knives. There are collectors looking and good ones are not overlooked and they will bring fair market value. A lot depends on the condition. If it has been sharpened, that is not good. M8 is the scabbard, not the bayonet. I cannot tell but it shouldn't say M8 on the bayonet itself. M3 would be the WW2 knife. M6 is Vietnam.
