Local antique store I stop in occasionally and there were a couple tables out front. One of the owners friends had made a deal to set up on the sidewalk. Spied this ring immediately and knew. Played it cool cause she had other jewelry. No prices. Asked about several other pieces first. She said "That's sterling. $20 and that's sterling $50. Way overpriced. "My mom would like this ring" I sez. "Let you have that for $10" said she. Sold! Marked 14K JCR. John C. Rinker. I think that is a Fiery Citrine with 8 small diamonds. Chunky 5.7 grams tested good.

HH All!

I see this all the time too... They want arms and legs and body parts for silver jewelry but sell gold for pennies on the dollar. Good buy!

Go figure. Great ring with a seldom seen, but desirable, stone. Don't show your Mom because she WILL take it.

Nice score. You'd think they'd have recognized it was real.

Note to jewelry sellers... If you're gonna sell jewelry, get a loupe. Better yet, don't. lol
