It's not a big 'score' but still interesting ...
I bought these 1950s vintage 3D viewers with reels, cards, illuminator, etc. for $3 at a church sale several months ago.
Just sold them locally through CL for $35.
I found the following info on the viewers:
The View-Master Model C "deluxe stereoscope", was made by Sawyers of Portland, Oregon from 1946 to 1955.
The Light attachment for the View-Master Stereoscope was made 1950-1955
The large group of reels, in varying condition, date from the 1940s to as late as 1982 for the 'E.T.' reels.
Subject matter is childrens' stories, movies and TV shoes, and travel.
Also includes a mid to late 1950's Tru-Vue Gift Set 520 with 'streamlined' 3D viewer and 5 picture cards in Gift Set envelope – Circus Parade, Little Red Riding Hood, Baby Zoo Animals, Ramar of the Jungle and the Blue Fire, Rex Allen and KOKO in “The Horse Thieves”. Also included in separate envelopes are “Wild Bill Hickok and Jingles” and “Disneyland Park FrontierLand”.
The Tru-Vue company was taken over by Sawyers in 1952 and this viewer was designed shortly after. Instead of using filmstrips like the older Tru-Vue viewers, it used cards consisting of 7 stereo pairs. Sawyers chose not to use Kodachrome film and so the pictures have faded to a monochrome magenta finish with some coloration still there, but most of their yellow and blue coloration has faded.
