Hey guys was at a pawn shop last week and bought two watches. The first one is a Baume Mercier ladies watch... They were about to send it out to get a quote on it and have it fixed up and sell on ebay. I asked her how much do you want because I instantly saw the 14k marks all over it. She said maybe $150 and I countered with $100 and the deal was done... Doesn't work but it weighed out to be 16g of 14k (took the movement out)! They knew it was gold as well so idk... Also got a Tag Heuer Aquaracer for $300, gonna keep this for myself. Amazon.com: TAG Heuer Women's WAF1310.BA0817 Aquaracer Quartz Watch: Tag Heuer: Watches same exact one and it came with all the boxes and paperwork. WAF1310.BA0817 | eBay sells quite nicely as well!

I always hit the pawn shops. They sell Georg Jensen silver at way over the scrap price and I'm okay with that as long as it doesn't exceed the true market value of GJ jewelry as they are very much in demand throughout the world . I paid $212.94 for this 77 grams of sterling necklace and a lady in NY gave me $1295.00 for it. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/g...aid-212-94-77-grams-925-silver-pawn-shop.html Pawn shops buy by weight and if they have just young folks working, they'll screw up a lot on valuable jewelry in the big chain shops. Sometimes they're ridiculous on their prices and other times the prices are unbelievably low if they no clue on what they really have. I got a Lady's Hamilton diamond/platinum case watch once for $56.00.. The young lady showing it to me, I recall saying she thought it was beautiful and the diamonds are real, but it failed to test as gold. She was saying that as I'm looking at the 90% PT mark on the back. I said so is $60 the best. She checked and said she can give me an extra 10% + Tax, as it's been out for 4 month. I got over $600. out of that watch and over the scrap plat. value.

Okay well a professional watchmaker took it out to weigh it. It's still in the watch right now as I write this I didn't get rid of it? Needs a new mainspring and a complete overhaul, quite expensive stuff we're talking. Dial needs a touch up as well.
