Haven't Posted in a While... Eclectic Mix (Pic Heavy)

Been a while since I posted mainly because I haven't been going out to the sales. At any rate I managed a few finds over this past weekend, all from the same estate sale. Nothing spectacular but all vintage and decent money makers for the price I paid. Purchased everything for $50. In no particular order...

The first photo shows 4 late 1800's almanacs. Always like old ephemera myself and buy it when I find it.

Next is a cardboard calendar from France for the year 1922. Nice print by JL Beuzon and a cool map on the back of it.

Here is a cast iron desk bell and a pair of (mop) opera glasses made by Andrew J. Lloyd & Co.

An 1800's Nassau Selter stoneware bottle. Needs cleaning, the black stuff scrapes off pretty easy with my fingernail so it should clean up well. More info on that jug here (or one like it anyway)- Mid 1800's or 1890's Nassau Selter jug???

Also got this wood carved Marionette from Thailand. These have been made for hundreds of years. This one is a mid century example. It is loaded with a thick coat of dust so a good cleaning will be in order.

For you Giants fans (boo!) I found this Bill Parcels signed football. The signature is pretty worn and I don't usually buy sports signed items but for the money ($5) I took it. Figured it's worth that much as a football alone.

Also scored this antique Alvin Silver .999 fine perfume decanter bottle. It is monogrammed and dated "dec. 99" for 1899.

Not pictured- The wife's home goods junk and... I also scored another Ouija board, the black and blue boxed one from the 60's, a very large wooden chef's pepper mill from Italy, a vintage pocketknife from Germany and a few old wooden yardsticks, a few vintage pillboxes, a pair of new vintage Godinger silver plated salt and peppers that look like gift boxes and a pewter Pope John Paul necklace (boxed).

This record was purchased a while back in Feb. but I never posted it. Still in cellophane but not sealed, exc. condition on the record. It's a decent score, paid $1. Swaunee Water and Cocaine Blues by Abner Jay. https://www.discogs.com/Abner-Jay-Swaunee-Water-And-Cocaine-Blues/release/3751921

Your marionette reminds me of a Thai hand puppet I bought a few months ago.

image.jpeg . A lot of detail work and craftsmanship go into them.

The Alvin silver onlay bottle is something I've been on the lookout for awhile but I've not been lucky enough to find.

Yeah I like it, but then I like most things I buy, lol. The house had vaulted ceilings and it was attached to it with fishing line and hanging from about 15 feet up. I had to use a rickety step ladder to reach up and cut the fishing line to get to it. It sounds easy but it was a long stretch, even for me (I'm tall). I didn't know who made the bottle when I purchased it. I saw the dec.99 and the monogram and could tell it was a silver overlay bottle. I was surprised to see it was .999 fine and made by Alvin. First one I've come across. The stopper has some damage but nothing too extreme.

Don't know why I like that Abner Jay.
He ain't no Muddy Waters but he is a one man band!
