As a comment, I'd say the ball looks absolutely new...doesn't have that aged look like many trophy balls I've seen.

Signature does look like j.j initials.Does match up to Tim Wakefields signature, though it doesnt look like his name.

MLB players who wore #49 and whose initials were J.J.:
As 'firemac' wrote above, Jim Johnson (one played for the Tigers and another for the Giants). Others included: Jose Jimenez (Cards and Rockies),Jeff Johnson (Yankees), John Johnson (Giants); and Jair Jurriens (Braves and Orioles).
Don.....

If Tim Wakefields signature, his last game was in 2011,and sure he must of signed some balls since then.So agree probably fairly new.

That's cool, I remember watching him play that knuckleball he threw was darn near impossible for people to hit.

I got one a couple years ago the girl had no idea who they were so I paid a dollar. Someone else had it and asked if I knew who it was. I looked right at it and said I have no idea!! And thought to myself please please please please please set it down!!

I know, wrong to do but I always wanted to have Cal Ripken Jr autographed baseball. He was one of my favorite players growing up if not my favorite player growing up. And I wanted the ball more then anything. And I still have it!
