My girlfriend, 1year old daughter; and I went out today for our first day hitting garage sales and I think I hit it big for a noobie. Everything is marked sterling except for the two butter knives which the blades are marked stainless but the handles have no mark but have the same tarnish as the stuff marked sterling. This was the only thing I found today and it was the first one out of 10. Paid $5 Let's make this fun and see who can guess the weight of everything minus the two knives.

Great finds. The knife handles look Sterling but should be marked somewhere. I have found a few that are unmarked and Sterling though. I'm going to guess 545 grams?

I have a set of that pattern. it's enchantress pattern by international silver, the other pattern in not sure. the knives are usually marked on the side, but with mine they were barely legible. great score, I'm guessing 520 grams without the knives.

If the pattern is the same on the knife handles most likely the handles are Sterling....

Its very common that the knifes have a stainless steel blade set in a sterling handle that matches the rest of the set. Great buy!

I sent it all down the line quick flip. The pawn shop I took it too told me the knives weren't sterling. I got a 150$ for it. Did I leave some money on the table sure, but 145$ for an hour of my time I'll take that anyday

the knives were sterling cause they match the rest of the pieces. melt content on them was around 250 so I would have taken 200-225 if i were scrapping them.

Did the pawn shop keep the knives?
