Paid $5 for these and a pair of weighted sterling candlesticks. The closest I can find are pieces made by Wang Hing but I am totally lost with the marks. If they are upside down please let me know and I'll upload a flipped version.
My wife says she thinks it is right side up but she can't read it. She is Japanese. Chinese and Japanese sometimes use the same alphabets but in their own language.
The dragons are attached to the outside, not repousse. Someone on another forum said that the Mark on the left is for "pure silver" so guessing the other one is a maker's mark.
Sold these last night for $500 to someone on another forum. A different user on that site also was able to identify the mark as that of the silversmith Shengyuan.
