Does anyone know a rough value of this piece?? It caught my eye... and I had to take a chance.. I can find smaller soup bowls on WorthPoint but nothing this big... 12" diameter.. no chips or cracks... glaze is 95% intact. I may have stumbled across a stunner...

I had to look it up. Looks like you have a nice piece of history there.

Me too. Nice piece of history for sure. Didn't that bowl belong to Jim Thorpe? lol

I thought the same thing. Holy :censored: , Jim Thorpe might have eaten out of that!

I'm thinking I may list it around $800.00 as a buy it now and put a best offer on it to gauge interest..

Update: this sold this morning for $800.00. It was bought by Dickinson College and will be used as a display piece for the upcoming 100th anniversary of the closing of the Carlisle Indian school. Super cool to have found something that significant it will be displayed and cherished for many years to come...

Excellent!!!!!!

I'm glad it went there instead of a private collector. I did find out in my research the county historical society does not have one of these bowls in their display.. ... I went with my gut and added that little snippet into my description and bam it sells within hours.
