I am never able to get up early in the morning to hit the garage sales when they first open, however getting there late is fine with me. People literally hand you free stuff and sell me stuff for a couple bucks. Picked up these card games for $1 and the older lady who sold them to me promised they were complete and she was right! The PIT game is from 1919 and the Rook is from 1943. Neither are very expensive but they are very cool especially being complete and good condition. I also got this Mikimoto clock from a lady who had lived in Japan for a couple years for $5. Also stopped by an antique store sale and they had these ads for 99 cents. One just turned out to be a 1942 Elgin B25 ad with an Elgin A-8 pilot timer which I just happened to find one awhile ago. Not in the best condition but it makes me want to get it fixed up even more!

Those are some great finds. The star of the show I think is the clock. Those aren't cheap and the Mikimoto brand is high end stuff. Great job!!

I thought the clock was really nice too because I know what Mikimoto is but then I looked on ebay and it looks like it sells for less than $20! Oh well it's still cool

My poor Grandmother spent many hours at her kitchen table at the old farm house playing Rook and Pit with my sister and I, while we were growing up. If you actually play the game Pit, you will learn why I say "poor", it is a game that will grow old very quickly on the average adult, but Gram preservered for the sake of us kids. Awesome memories and I am 100% sure those games are still up to the farm on the game shelf to this day and I am now 54 years old!!
