    Tesoro garage sale find

    :I found a ...Tesoro Golden Saber II ..at a garage sale that was a nice find.. ; and i only paid $50.00.. for it ...... and it had the original box and looked and worked like new !!.....

    Even with out the lifetime warranty it is still nice deal. I am always looking for detecting equipment and accessories when I go to garage sales, but so far no luck like yours.

    Tesoro's warranty is supposed to be for the original owner. This having been said, I know of several people who sent in Tesoro's to get fixed and even though they were not the original owners of the machines, Tesoro still repaired tham free of charge and all they had to pay for was the shipping to get them to the factory in Prescott. As long as the problem wasn't the result of misuse or neglect, Tesoro would rather absorb the small cost of repairs to keep their name out in the field than soak a detectorist who owns one of their products secondhand with 2-way shipping, repair costs, and service fees. The key, I'm told is just to send the detector in and state the problem on the repair form, and not to ask for or expect free repairs if you are not the original purchaser. Since Fishers have been turned into black & gold Bounty Hunters, Tesoro is now the ONLY manufacturer who has a liftetime warranty.

    Nice going on the detector. Tesoro changed their policy a few years back and the " Life Time Warranty " is good for the life of the machine, no matter how many owners have had it.
