Spent $9.50 and hit about 10 rummages, as I went to Great America later in the day.
A lady gave me the Forest Park Hospital pin if I promised to haul away a couple of books she was trying to give away. It has a styled S on the back and 1/10 18k. GF
Sterling Silver and Amethyst Necklace. New, never worn, $40 price tag on the back for $5. Probably paid too much for this one.
Necklace (925 Italy <hmph>, which ran me $.50).
Bought the rest and a 60's knife (not pictured) for $4. I love the poker chip with is labeled Sterling and has "Happy Birthday" on the front. The cross ring is labeled Sterling. The small locked it 1/20 12k gf and the larger one is 1/20 12k.
It's the last two that really interest me. The scroll necklace charm has TKA on the top and then a more styled ADN(?) below hand. It almost looks like a fraternity or honor society to me, but nothing came up in a quick search. On the back it has engraved "ADSTalnaker/Cincinnati 1942." Apparently it is at least 12k and a similar pin is listed on Ebay for $115.
The pin/badge is labeled Souvenir 9th Annual Reunion, UCV, Charleston, SC. I believe that this was from the United Confederate Veterans which formed in 1889. The 9th anniversary would be likely 1898. Really interesting.
