We got up early this morning to hit some yard sales and two farm estate sales. The first yard sale, I spent $2 on a "coonskin" hat and $4 on an old Ford wrench and $2 on a sterling pin & set of sterling earrings. The second sale, i gave $3 for this 44 inch tall piece of cactus wood.The first estate sale, my wife picked up 20 New CDs for $10 while I headed to the barn. Inside I found an old cast iron lamp post base with a electric motor mounted on top. Another was laying in a poison ivy patch outside. The guy sold me both for $5 and he retrieved the one in the poison ivy for me. The lamp post are 33 1/4 inches tall and HEAVY for an old man. The next Farm estate sale, I headed to the barn again, while my wife went inside. I found a nice old hand forged set of andirons hanging on the wall for $4 and a drawknife for $1. In the other barn, I found two old cast iron 20 inch tall house jacks for $10 and an 8 ft aluminum step ladder for $10. One of the jacks had been broken at the base and brazed back together and then had two small pieces broken out of the base again. We went to a local flea market and a couple of more sales but didn't get anything more. {Reminder to self... Quit buying cast iron}
