1981 GARRETT VLF/TR Thrift Store Find
Snagged this old dinosaur this morning in the Goodwill Store. Walked in and saw the shaft sticking outta the end of the bag. Dug everything out and stood there in SHOCK !
Unit is in MINT Condition. Just a small scuff on the box bottom and a couple on the coil bottom. Takes 6 - 9v batteries, tested it out and and it works perfect.
Bought Detector, Manual, Headphones, Carrying Bag, Warranty Card, and Original Invoice. Detector was purchased 3/10/1981 for $249.96. I paid very little.

All I ever find at the thrift store are golf clubs that look like someone beat rocks into sand as a pastime.
I'm not a genius, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

... Finishing a 6 Pack by the 4 tee usually contributes to these results.

Hey, nice Deep Seeker you found there. I bought one brand new back in the 70's and I still use it from time to time. It has been a good one.

Re: 1981 GARRETT VLF/TR Thrift Store Find
Love those old Garretts
Congrats on the great find.
I use mine (a 1981 Garrtett TR machine) in the woodchips
in all metal mode. It's a very efficient machine for this kind of pillaging.
Good luck with it.
You can never have too many detectors!
