I started my morning early and hit numerous sales without a single good buy until I was ready to aim the car homeward bound. My last stop looked promising and after speaking with the guy running it, I was given a handful of watches with this being 1 of three he handed me. Do any of the in house watch guys have any idea about the movement. Is it run of the mill or something decent?

I’m familiar with the name but that’s about it. The watch displays no caliber on the movement so I’m not sure if an actual model can be established. The serial number puts it around 1943 but the movement isn’t working. It will manually (when pushed on the train) so I think it’s just really gummy.

I’ll give it a cleaning and see if I can’t get it running again. In spite of the heavy signs of wear, I think it will look really good once finished.

Tam nailed it. Looks like a 1940’s version of the Longines cal 12.68Z 17j movement.

Wow, thanks for the ID. I’ve been busy and haven’t had time to check back often. Hopefully I’ll have it running soon

I was thinking it's a 15 jewel, due to no jeweled bearing for the center gear. :dontknow:
