Got this over the weekend for $10 at a local garage sale. Put batteries in it when we got home and tested it out. It looks and works great!

i bought a machine few years back that back in the day it was known by most as a "hot machine"
it was a Red Baron by Bounty hunter - one i got did not have a scratch on it - looked like new
i got it for like $50 - think back in the day they might have been $400 or $500
i snatched it up - put batteries in it and it burst into flames :tongue3:

I often see like-new detectors at estate/garage sales. For a lot of people I think they fall into the exercise equipment/weight bench category. They are optimistic, expecting fast-easy results but then get discouraged when reality sets in. Each one is like a little lost dream lol

You got a great deal on that White's Eagle. I had one for 25 years and it never needed any time in the shop plus I found LOADS of coins and jewelry with it. Learn it and you'll find some good stuff.

My parents gave me a coinmaster 5000 for my bday when I was about 8 years old. They got it in the “Want Ads” which was the pre-craigslist craigslist lol. That was 1989-1990 era. Used it for probably ten years b4 upgrading. Kept buying the new Whites models up through today and I still have all of them. The clunkiness aside, I still bust out the old coinmaster at a local lake and it works like a charm. I’ve cheated here and there with a minelab, but still love my American beauties.

I'll be the devil's advocate here. Sell it for the best price you can and use the money to buy a newer model detector. Today's detectors are much lighter and much simpler to adjust settings. Your arm will thank you.
