I don’t know why but today I had a good feeling about garage sales and it seems I was right

All of the watches pictured came from a single sale and ran less than $20. I’ll have to crack them open in the next few hours to see which ones I can get running. I don’t have much hope for the swatches but maybe I’ll get a little surprise.

The Skagens look nice but will need a bit of polishing work in the crystals. If the titanium one fits me, I might keep it for myself.

The Renis auto looks like it wants to run but might need some oil since the second hand tends to stop. It could be that it has no wind power but I’ll open it and see what’s happening inside

I got a bit of time earlier to work on the watches and made a few of them run again

The real prize from the whole lot is the Swiss made Renis. Not only is it a desirable watch, it’s absolutely stunning. I’ve polished the crystal and case but will still need to address the movement during the week. There are nearly zero marks on the back so I’ll be extra carefully not to make my own marks during opening.

The dial is an iridescent blue that fades to purple. It reminds me of some Amazon butterflies that have a similar shade.

The Renis finally has a strap. I think the Gulf Oil LeMans GT40 color scheme is a perfect fit for this guy.

This is my new favorite watch!
