At a garage sale last Saturday . I asked the lady if she had any stamps , she said yes , and she went in the house and came out with a big box .
I don't like to buy loose stamps that were ripped off envelopes , but I saw a few older ones .I paid $5.00 . When I got home I found the good ones in a tattered leather briefcase at the bottom - 3 booklets full of stamp blocks .

mojjax,
Go slowly in identifying your stamps; you may have some valuable winners.
For example, the blue 1 cent Franklin stamp has five varieties (Scott's #s `134, 145, 156, 182 and 206).
They were issued between 1870 and 1882.
The most valuable variety in used condition is worth about 40X the least valuable variety.
Don.......
PS: Great catch !!

Nice find. Stamps collecting has gone out of favor over the years as prices came down but I feel that with the new forever stamps that stamp collecting may come around again because your initial investment will always go up in value with the increase in stamp prices.

I have passed on so many stamp collections that I do not even look at them anymore.

Might have to stop and look again.
