Haven't posted in a while, might have been a few years. Anyway I've been doing the buying and the selling and this ring in particular I probably wanted more time on than I should, but now I'm too far invested, lol. Problem is I can't seem to make out the initials.. just scrolled through half of the alphabet's worth of hallmarks on a jewelry hallmark catalog and I'm starting to wonder if it's a symbol and not initials. Anyway maybe someone recognizes this. Thanks to all. Happy hunting :skullflag:

It is a makers mark, or "Hallmark" of the creator of the jewelry. Unfortunately, not all silversmiths have them registered, so it might be hard to know the owner.
I've been in the jewelry business for years, and I haven't seen that one. From the design and the amount of wear, I would assume it was made within the last 20 years.

Looks like some kind of shield with a cross in it to me. You should try cleaning the mark a little to get a clearer view of what it actually is we are looking at. It is too filled in with dirt/gunk. There is a good link here that you can put in key words to narrow your search for jewelers maker marks. https://www.langantiques.com/university/makers-marks-2/

Hmm..interesting. I'll have to double back and clean it up some more. I had it sold, but buyer canceled out on me. At least now I've got an extended chance to learn more.

Oh and thanks for the link! Don't think I've used that one before!

It doesn’t ring a bell but I’m sure it probably doesn’t add value. I think the ring will stand on its own
