Heavy 875 silver mirror

My mother in law was about to place an old mirror with base in a garage sale. She received from a friend years ago while selling at a flea market.

Glad my wife gave it to me too look at. So, she hands this mirror to me and says, "This is kind of heavy. Do you think that it might be silver?"

I take the mirror, flip it over and look at the base. Bam. 875!

...nevermind. I'm apparently dyslexic and/or have bad eye sight. Doesn't say 875. Says 785. Looked up manufacturer (baroque by wallace) and item. Only silver plated. Sigh...

Almost had a new big screen TV. :)

Admins: can I delete this post to hide my shame? Lol.

With most items with markings, researching those markings is typically the best way to go. With more experience, the moments of embarrassment will decrease, but not go away completely. You did well.

Time for more coffee.
