I have no idea what this might be. Gold filled unless it’s like 8K. Will have it RXF tested to be sure. One end is open the other end closed. Dated July 18,1878.

I'm not sure what that is and having a specific date might be commemorating a particular event to somebody? Does appear to have a layer of gold over it.

Yeah, I was thinking it was pretty small for a cane handle. My first thought was a decorative match stock holder but I couldn't find any like that online anywhere.

I’ve got a super dainty one at home that must have been for the most fabulous fop or for a young lady. It might be 15mm wide. It has a sterling silver handle like that. I’m away because of COVID but when I get back to NYC I’ll take photos.
