That is a score. Easy money on Craigslist, but I'd keep it if it was me the got it for free.

Great recovery!

We have "convenience centers" spread throughout the county to take our trash and items for recycling. About 20 or so years ago, signs went up indicating "no scavenging". Before that policy change, I knew guys who would come home with more stuff than they threw away. It really was a way to recycle that has become lost here.

Congrats on your great pick. I bet a small transom mount electric trolling motor would move that along just fine.

Nice grab! Looks like a project boat that someone took a lot
of time, and care in building. With that shallow draft, it could
be a bit tippy.

Is the transom covered in fiberglass?

the transom has varnish , the skin looks like canvas , then fiberglass resin , then gel-coat ? not sure .

A lot of work went into making that. I refinished my Father's wooden old town canoe, (now mine) stretched the canvas on. It was one of my favorite projects. That is a beautiful boat, I hope the canvas is in good shape. What a score!!!
