Weather warmed up so I took the AT 5 x 8 coil Pro out to the test garden.
I have 1940,s 25,10,5,1 cent pieces planted at about 6".
25 hits the best, 10 has little scratch, 5 bounces, and 1 cent hits good.
I was running pro zero dis 25 sens one down from max, Gb was auto at 80.
Ground medium moisture in it both tests.
Question is does this sound about right, thought last time it seemed I got more solid hits. I would passed on some if I was in a area with much trash.

Regards RwP

Sounds about right but it'll hit deeper.. nickles would be the bouncy one usually. Is the dime silver or clad?

If you are not encountering any iron I would try running my disc on down to around 10. But at times finding old home places finding the iron is a good thing. Then at least you know you're close to the home. I run my disc down as low as possible running the small coil. Just my thoughts.

If you GB you'll get better depth. I GB and then lower the # 5 to 10 for better depth.

I’ve read that reducing auto GB by 10, will find deeper silver, and increasing by 10 will find deeper gold. I’ve tried both, with a bit of success. I do know that an iron grunt at 10” - 12” can be silver. I don’t know why, but that’s why I run zero disc; for max depth. The pro, especially with the 5 X 8, has excellent separation. You just have to listen closely, and tighten your wiggle when you hear those whispers.
