Got out with my ace 350 today, kept loosing signals???

The bottom looks like rubber and there are bumps on it. I'm used to bounty hunter coils that are hard plastic on the bottom.
Is this what a ace should look like on the bottom?

looks normal, that's also why they suggest a coil cover

Thanks, good to hear. I guess I'm nervous about it because I got it off ebay.

That is the way mine looks also. On my ACE 250, the coil is nice and smooth. Kinda looks like the 350 coil wasn't "dipped" in the epoxy long enough.

I went out today with the ace 350, it works great and I found items i'd missed in the past.
I came across a few signals that seemed real good (bell) but when I began to dig they vanished.
This never happend with my old detectors, does this happen alot with aces?

Happens from time to time. Make sure to verify the target one direction, then turn 90 degrees and check it again. I had to start doing that with my DD coils. I was digging too many falsies because I was getting in a hurry and not verifying the target.
