AT Pro Release Status

November 4, 2010



Garrett is happy to provide the following update on the new AT Pro metal detector. There are many steps to reach final production on a brand-new product. We are making great progress and are very pleased with the results of the tests we have performed on the AT Pro’s many features. The first shipments of AT Pro are expected to ship from the factory to our distributors next week. We appreciate your enthusiasm for this new product and we look forward to its great success.



In the meantime, we are successfully fulfilling all orders for the popular new ACE 350 special. We have also shipped out the new accessory 8.5”x11” DD searchcoil for use with the ACE, GTA, GTP and GTI lines.

my guess is, that unless your delaer is also a distributor, which is unlikely, we are looking at Thanksgiving week before retailers have them in stock.

I hope it's not one of those First Texas deals.....Where it is months later before you get to see one at a dealer.......Hope i don't have to dig through the ice to test mine out..........

Here is what he told me on the 3rd

Hello,

We are still right on schedule with our production of this model. We
are starting to ship some to our distributors and we will continue to
ship some as fast as we can make them. We have a lot that were
pre-ordered so we are making them as fast as we can and getting them out
to you as fast as we can. When Garrett said that the AT Pro would be
available the 1st of November, what we meant was that the AT Pro would
be available the first part of November. So that means it could be the
3rd of November, 5th of November or another date. It shouldn't be much
longer until you have your detector in your hands and out enjoying your
new detector and finding out that treasure.

I pre-ordered one at the beginning of October. My dealer told me he has arranged to drop ship one to my house so it doesn't have to be sent to his shop first.

Both Brad and Sue at Garrett customer support are telling customers that the AT PROs will ship to distributors this week. So the dealers should get them next week. However they are only shipping a limited number to each distributor just like the announced in September when the AT PRO first was announced. Garrett's plan was to make enough US models to take care of the pre-orders and then switch to the international version for its pre-orders and then return and make some more of the US version for dealer inventory.

So if you pre-ordered early in October you have a good chance at getting one from the first batch. If you pre-ordered in late October or in November then you probably still have several weeks to wait. If you are waiting for one to show up in a dealer's inventory so you can just go in and pick one up then you will likely have to wait until after Christmas as the pre-orders have been heavy.
