Keep the Garrett machines warm, and they will perform flawlessly!

I took the AT pro out for a hunt during the last couple of days. The temps got up to -4 C/24.8 F which was really quite enjoyable. Didn't need to wear those long-john underwear. There weren't too many coins, as it is still early in the season for tobogganing so the drops aren't too plentiful. But I do like experimenting, and that I did! I have always liked playing with targets off the toe off of my scorpion coil. Depending on how fast the audio disappeared and the type of tone it gave (you really have to use your ears) said a lot on its depth and conductivity. Junky targets like tinfoil and large iron targets were easily identified as such. I wanted to see if I could replicate the same procedure, and I think I have it figured out, as shown above. Instead of pulling the coil towards you away from the target like the Scorpion, using the hot spot as shown in the diagram, you move it back and forth. So far....it seems to working for me.

If you try it yourself, let me know what you think......

Below are my finds combines for my last 2 hunts. :icon_sunny:

:icon_thumright: John, great info. Right now I have so many coils. For the GTI2500 I have the 9.5" PROformanceā„¢ Imaging Submersible Searchcoil, 5" x 10" Scorcher DD Searchcoil, 10" x 14" PROformanceā„¢ Power DD Elliptical Searchcoil and the 12.5" PROformanceā„¢ Imaging Searchcoil. I like reading your comments you give so much info makes me want another one.

??? :dontknow: I also have two late 9.5 coils (the white imaging). I am trying to figure out what to do with them.
