GTI 2500 back from Garrett

My 2500 made it home today, so I had to give it a trial run. In the 45 minutes I had before dark I found 3 clad dimes and 3 Lincolns. The 12 1/2" coil that had been the problem had been replaced and worked fine. The backlight feature now available helped as the sun went down. I hadn't thought I would miss the treasure talk feature, but I did miss the voice saying "power off" as I shut it down in the dark. I actually shut it off and then turned it back on because I couldn't see the screen. Over all I am glad to have it upgraded to new status. It should give good service for several years now.

By new status I meant the electronics have been upgraded to those used in current production. This machine was manufactured in 2005 and shipped with the treasure talk feature. New machines have a backlight switch instead of treasure talk and also have better ground balance for soils heavy in minerals.

I loved mine also when I got it back. It operates allot smoother now.
