When I insert the coil connector into the control box, should the o ring go into the receptacle, or should it seat on the edge? Should I be able to see the o ring when I start to tighten the metal ring? When I push it in it stops when the o ring makes contact with the lip .Should I push it harder or is that as far as it goes? I used it like this on land and it worked fine, just afraid to put it in water. I'm not sure I have it right.

Push it in till the o-ring just starts to go in. Then use the nut to suck it in as you tighten it. You will feel it tighten up and seat. Hope this helps. Bart

When I loosen the metal ring, the o ring is still visible. It doesn't pull inside the receptacle when I tighten it.

Try putting some lube on it (o-ring). It should slide right in as you hand tighten it.

Make sure the o-ring is seating properly too, and that it isn't getting pinched and pulling down unevenly.

I had to LIGHTLY wiggle the connector as I pushed it, or the o-ring would get pinched and bulge out on one side.

Get it tight to keep the o ring down where it belongs...the threads are fine and it takes a few turns.

Be careful! The o ring tends to want to peel out of the plug groove and get hung up on the top of the receptacle on the housing. Make sure it is pressed in all around before putting on the nut. The factory provides plenty of grease and the o ring can get out of hand easily.

When I finally got them in I used my loupe to make sure the o rings weren't visible. Then I tightend the metal rings.

I posted this because it was the first thing that happened to me, and I still think the connection sucks. I think I will order a couple o rings for backup.

At first I thought the o ring seated on the edge of the receptacle, because I couldnt push it any further. I couldn't believe how hard I had to push to get them to go inside.

I hear ya man. The thing is a bear to assemble. Patience, a bit of silicone grease and good eye/hand coordination is an absolute necessity to put the coil plug into the box. It's just a learning curve thing. Anything simpler would be more expensive. The quality of the design is top notch, do not expect leaks at this connection.

On the positive side, I'm not worried about it leaking.
