gti 1500 12.5" imaging coil.... worth it??

Howdy ya'll. Recently I have purchased the garrett gti 1500 and have had moderate success with the stock 9.5" coil with coin sized targets reaching around 6"-7" max. I was thinking about purchasing the 12.5" imaging coil to gain more depth. Is there a REAL significancant amount of depth to gain in this coil as opposed to the stock 9.5"? I guess what i'm asking is if the purchase is worth it or not. Thank you, Bryan H.

I didn't notice any difference in depth with the 12.5 over the 9.5 coil. The main advantage was that I could cover more ground with the big coil over the smaller one. Also note that the big coil gets heavy fast. I don't regret buying the big coil, and I use it whenever I use the gti 1500, but I don't think I would buy it again.

The extra coil i got for my GTI 1500 is the 5x10 DD scorcher............I had the 12.5 PRO Imaging but found i liked the one that comes on it better the 9.5 ............. So i got the 5x10 DD and i really like useing the 5x10 on my 1500...........

It will give you approx. 1.5 to 2" in depth gain on coin size targets. I used one on my GTI 2500 along with the stock 9.5 coil and also use one on my Grand Master CX111 (non imaging).

I found/find coins that I miss/ed while using the stock coil after switching to the 12.5''

Each coil has its purpose ---- under the right conditions and in the right circumstance I wouldn't be without my 12.5'' but I also use the stock coil and the DD ---- it just depends on where I'm hunting and the conditions.

Going into the Field with 1 coil to hunt is like trying to build a house with 1 single tool!
