Never heard of that one, Bev.

I'm trying to understand why that would be true.

I can't think of any alloy in gold jewelery that would bring the target I.D. down to 00.

Well that would have to be good........... For every time you get a double 00 you know you have a gold chain............................ Were other detectors will not show a gold chain at all.... In numbers or sound.............. So that means the AT is way ahead of the other detectors...........

If I were you I would get a range of jewelry and coins, then I would get a bag of peat/compost. Carefully put each item under the bag then scan with your detector and see what the numbers come up as. I tried this with my Xp and it worked well, although the Xp is tone id, not visual. When I take the Garrett 1500 out I go by the tone on that too now, pretty accurate as well, when you get used to it :laughing7:

I havent proven it either way and that's why I didnt throw it out there as fact, I thought it was a strange concept though and was interested to hear some views. I'll learn more once I get comfortable with these codes!
Thanks guys!
