    Importance of coil size

Im getting a 250 for Xmas. It comes with a 6.5 x 9 coil, but I was thinking of getting the 9 x 12 coil along with it for the additional 80 bucks, as someone who hasnt metal detected before can you tell me if its worth it? thanks.

    Re: Importance of coil size

The smaller coil will do you fine while learning as it has less chance of getting two or more targets under it at once. When you are in a field with few targets the larger coil will help cover the ground and go deeper too.

Answered you on the other thread. Basically seconded what Sandman said here.
