I remember running to the store to pick up a 9 volt for the pointer myself when my box came in :laughing7: and always carry extras when in the field or you hunt will get cut short.

Thanks again Rob.s,
It just came in, funny thing it has batteries in the Pro, haven't got the pin pointer out to see yet..
Suggestions on which batteries hold up best, as for brand and type.. Prefer no rechargeable.. thanks..

They should both have batteries installed. I've had my ProPointer for almost a year and have only replaced the battery once....

I typically stick with Duracell or Energizer...

A tip: If your target is close to the surface, within a couple of inches... Pinpoint with the detector and then take the ProPointer and stick it to the approximate pinpointed location to verify. If you get a chirp, you are on target. If you don't, try moving it around to see if you get a signal. This will help you learn pinpointing with the AT Pro.

Good luck and have fun!
Dwight

Thanks Dwight,
They both did have batteries in them..
I will try them out on Thursday and Friday..
The coil cable was a real hassle to get seated correctly..
All assembled and sounds good..
We'll see how it sings in the field..
Thanks for all the replies guys.. :-))))

Congratulations!!! I hope to order mine soon, have got some super deals from the guys on here just don't know who to go with... Seems like all the guys who sell on here are nice guys and love the hobby, not just trying to sell you something for the heck of it... Just sitting here thinking what a great problem to have... Anyway, go out there and make the AT PRO look good make sure to post your finds!!!!

If you want the best deal on quality batteries, Ray-O-Vac AA alkaline says lasts as long as Energizers. The Ray-O-Vacs are made in USA. Menard's here sells them in 48 packs for a price that comes out to under 30 cents each. The ones I bought in 2011 suggest using by Dec 2017. I like my AT Pro & Propointer very much. Best wishes, George (MN)

Well low lake hunting sucked!!
4 Lincolns, and maybe an old wagon hub steel band.. Probably wishful thinking..
That lake looked like a mine field so many people have been detecting it..
Tomorrow a hundred yr old house in the country, they still live in, out in the country.. No one has detected it before.. looking for a better day.. Love the AT PRO and Pointer.. Any suggestions welcome and appreciated.. Tomorrow will only be my 2nd day using it.. Thanks..

Great choice on the detector, that will be my next one.

As far as batteries, I get mine at the Dollar Tree, or Dollar Store in my area. For $1 for a 4 or 8 back I can't go wrong. I do notice that the batteries lose charge faster when you are using headphones. Not sure the draw on the headphones.

I love Garrett
