The 1500 was my second detector, still have it and it's great. I have no regrets on buying or keeping it. It's now my back up detector, but that is due to the soil etc here in the UK. It did find my most rare and valuable coins though.

I haven't herd any negitive reports about them. I know the new ones have a different coil than the older ones do. Is the new coils any better than the old?

I had one and didn't like it's recovery speed and the weight and balance was the worst I've ever seen on a detector...My arm killed after swinging it.

With guns like that you have to be kidding, they're nearly as big as mine:wink:

That purty green on the Garrett must have brought out my feminine side :) In all honesty I think if they had an arms strap they would be a lot easier to swing.

That's why I like to mount the battery pack on my belt, makes the machine a lot lighter unless you use the DD coil. Again another reason to use the XP, much much lighter and finds tons more valuable stuff.

I actually never tried it on my belt but I guess that would have cured the problem.

A freind has a 2500 that i have used a time or two. They are a little rich for me,so i thought i might try the 1500 for a little less dough.I like the sizing of the target. Is their much differnce in the two?
