I have usually left my 2500 on about sensitivity around 7. Just realized on an air test that im only getting about 6" on dimes, pennies and maybe 8 with quarters. Any suggestions on a good setup for normal soil? Also I have always thought that air test usually is not as deep than in real soil or even moist soil because the ground can help with conductivity. Is this wrong? Basically is air test accurate on real depth?

Air tests are not accurate for depth, only to test for ID or to see if it works. Even for normal soil you need to ground balance for best results. Using too much disc limits depth and sometimes using to much sens also does so because it sees more minerals and you then need more ground balance settings.

Will a CZ21 detect deeper in an airtest than it will in wet salt sand? Is an airtest the max depth a machine can get? Ive asked this before and no one seems to know.

Since there are no minerals in the air, it should respond deeper, but targets in the wet salt sand could produce a halo which the detector sees as a larger target. An air test is the max depth a MD will get in the air only.
