So I try to auto ground balance it (up & down movement) & the numbers dont seem to change any more ...I have even tried the manual balance by lowering numbers to 50-60 then I try to auto balance & it wont change ...Is it time to send it back or is there a quck fix or maybe Im doing something wrong & has this happened to anybody else?

I have never looked at the numbers on mine when ground balancing. I just listen for the tone to fade away while pumping the coil. Once its gone I start to hunt. The soil in my area is fairly neutral.

Same thing here...no matter where we use it the gb number stays at exactly 90 and never moves.....ever.

Try a reset. Hold power/mode button about 5 seconds, until you get a double beep. Release and then power back on. I've noticed the same occurrence occasionally. It still hunted fine. I always ground balance by pumping the coil. Sometimes the numbers change a few, sometimes not.

Ill try that next time out but like I said before I balanced it then manual lowered numbers to 50-60 then tried to auto ground balance & numbers stayed at 50 & had no humming balancing sound as normal.......& BTW thanks for the replies

Do Reset. Turn the unit off. Go to a clean spot. Turn unit on, pro zero. Scan, dont worry about gb number. Find good clean spot, no nails, no foil, no metal, no noise at all within two feet min. Hold the tecter twelve inches off ground level. Hold gb button in, do not release. Bob coil up and down five times one thousand up, one thousand down, like a second hand on a clock, click up, click down, smooth like. If it does not take gb in four or five pumps, it's a hospital case. If it does take gb and you want to tweak it, hold coil to ground level. Do not move machine at all. Press gb plus or minus, it should go up or down as you wish, do this over CLEAN GROUND. If that dont work, it needs hospital visit. Good luck kayden.
