I have an ace 350 and now I want to upgrade to an at pro will it be worth it or should I just stick with the 350

Depends on what you hope to accomplish with the new machine that you are not accomplishing now. IMO it is a lot to spend just for the sake of an upgrade.

I would suggest an upgrade if you want to use it in mineralized environments that drive your 350 crazy. The AT Pro has ground balancing that should help with both mineralized dry ground and salt water areas. It is also water proof if you want to use it in the surf or under water (to 10 feet).

I don't consider the AT PRO as an upgrade from the 350 unless you want a detector for the water. A upgrade should offer lots more than what the AT PRO offers. NRA5.JPG

Well maybe yes if coming from the 350 I'd kinda agree but definitely an upgrade from a bounty or harbor freight model

I guess it depends on what you would consider an upgrade. I would decide on a price range first, then compare all the detectors and see what features you think would fit your hunting style. HH!!

I want to hunt the shallow river by the old Indian mill in my area. Also very interested in the pro mode from what I've read about it. I'm going to spend 600 +or- so I was leaning towards the at pro

With that being said & owning a pro that would be my move in pro mode with iron discrimination on I've had alit of great luck with it I put the smaller coil on it & u can.really uncover a lot of goodies in the ground then u can jump right from the field to the river no switching machines just walk over in u go

I am a fan of the Garrett machines and like the AT PRO and AT GOLD. I currently own an ACE 350 and an Infinium LS. I use the Infinium for working in the surf and checking tailings piles for missed gold. I use the 350 for dry sand, parks, playgrounds, etc... I have used neither in fresh water yet. If you are only interested in working a shallow river then the ACE 350 might be OK as long as you don't submerge the electronics unit itself. I'd give it a try first before shelling out for a waterproof unit.

I also have the ACE 350 and just purchased a Whites MXT Pro. I really like the MXT and it is way ahead of the ACE 350. If you check with a few of the vendors here you can get one for just a couple hundred bucks more then the AT Pro. I don't think you would be disappointed in that upgrade at all if you can possibly swing the extra bucks. And right now it comes with 150.00 bonus bucks that you can get an extra coil or accessories from Whites. There are some great vendors on here.

Ill look into it thanks for the suggestions. I ordered a pro pointer and have a nice digger so extra coil would be nice.

I am not putting down the garrett at all. Both company makes great machines. And the bonus bucks are a way of getting you to spend more but if you have intentions of adding anything to your equipment 150.00 bucks is 150.00 bucks any way you look at it. Just my opinion that the MXT is way ahead of the ACE in quality. But opinions are subjective as we all know. From what I have seen and understand the AT Pro is a great machine also. I am hope to put together the funds for the V3I also as I like to tinker with programming.
