First was on the beach, found a little gold letter (J)

Today on a Soccer field found this. I didn't want to dig ANY common
coins so I set up just for gold. Wasn't there 2 minutes and hit this!
Yeh! Sweet!

What did it read? I've had a pro for over a year and a half and have never found gold with it.

Pretty sure it read about 47/48...
The other day I went out just for gold BUT was looking for the wrong
numbers!
Look at my post http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/garrett/357195-bought-pro-today.html
with VDI numbers and you'll see most Gold hits
in the mid to upper 40s and into the 50s right up to 60.
Well, I was only looking for 60s and above so may have missed some gold!
I'm sure I remember a lot of 40s but wasn't sure! I'll go back and check now.

Today I said I'm not digging any common stuff and ONLY lookin for gold
so I set up the machine likewise and it paid off!

I have ace 350 and dig all the pull tab tones I have yet to find gold. I want to get at pro but going to have to wait a bit the 350 was a bday present from wife and kids. I did get the pro pointer last week. What a diff that thing makes

Kodiak,

But if you get your coil over a ring it'll sure sound off just like any other machine!
Even the 150 will find a gold ring down a few inches!
So don't go nuts tryin to get a Pro if you can't yet, no biggy!

Yea on the AT Pro you can have gold read all the way down to 38 on the VDI and up to 53 for gold other rings like silver and junk rings will be up around 80-85 there is a nice video on YouTube that shows the VDI numbers for different type of gold rings

Nice find NightSquad!
Thanks for posting the vid DetectorMike! That was very informative!!!
I'm finding out (the hard way) just pinpoint it and dig it, regardless of the numbers.

I pulled a Merc today on a signal that was just one little 80 blip, I couldn't get it to pinpoint, so I kept coming at where I thought I got the 80, and just dug (a hole about the size of my coil. there she was at about 3 inches deep, all the way to the left end of the hole. Just luck. Sometimes luck works better than skill.

Nice ring. Been a while since I found a ring.
The video was very informative. That earring at 38-39 was a surprise. I have found the ATP is very hot on nickels and small silver studs. I have running pro zero with up to 40 disc, guess I will back that off a bit. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
