Making the ace 250 waterproof

Does the cover up that you can buy for the Ace250 make it semi-waterproof ? I was out detecting in a tot-lot the other day & it started to rain.I was under a big shade cloth,over the tot-lot and some rain was getting through,so I took off my hat and covered the control box.It didn't get any water on it at all,and still works great.

itll keep actual rain out dut and dirt i wouldnt go in the water with it or anythinf like that its hard to say with out c in what its made of considering there are so many out there now just keep an eye on it if u see any moisture on the front plastic that covers the screen definetly take it off so the moisture will come out
