Question on the Garrett Pro Pointer

I am hard of hearing, so I am wondering about the sound emitted from the pro pointer


I was wondering if the Garrett is louder than the pistol probe, which I have problems hearing!

My detectopro Uniprobe is hooked up to a radio shack amp/spkr, and while it works okay, the wire running to the probe sometimes is annoying.

Anyone with hearing deficiencies using the pro pointer find that it is loud enough?

I've got electrical tape around mine to quieten it down. The vibratory response is what I use anyway. It's too loud in public areas for my taste. It's almost as annoying as a cell phone in public places.

Well, Im a die hard Propointer person...But i will admit, I am on my second one, because the first ones, button wont stay down, so i was having to hold it the whole time, and the second one i got i have to turn off and on sometimes because it will go off in mid air...but everyone i have hunted with hear has had the same issues...so i figure its just one of those things

What Fletch said, I am hard of hearing and rely on the vibration, mine too is taped.
