Just got a second hand recon amL-1000.
The sound is almost the same.
I think the new models developing is just like a car.
The basic technology will be the same.
Maybe they enhanced some function to set the ATX for gold prospecting.

Yes I forgot to say , that's pretty heavy.
Because they use fiberglass material tube sets.

It would be a lot more informative if Garrett would let mashdetectors give the ATX a go, at least we might see a real gold detecting video with sound.


Let the ATX be heard...........it's supposed to have audio.

I see a few people complaining that the ATX is too heavy??
My Infinium is 5.5lb with the 10 x 14 mono and I can swing it all day with stops for lunch and a cup of tea and I am a weed with a bad back, crook hips and knees and a dud heart so yez USA types must need some vitamins

Have you ever tried searching youtube? I found a lot of reviews that weren't from garrett.

Anyone doing a review or field test of the ATX has to have Garrett approval because the ATX has not been released yet.

I can PROMISE you its not. On my hunt with Garrett and the new Garrett ATX they said the inside workings were way different!

Not a single one other then Garretts promotional video before i posted on Oct 8th..not sure how you found "a lot of reviews" when i only see two from the same guy right now..at least the ones that are out there show what a nice nugget finder this will be,and cheaper then a minelab GPX..

There coming soon! Garrett is doing software tweaks before releasing to public. Cant wait to get one, hopefully before it gets too cold and frozen to use it!
