They both have their benefits:

GTI2500 goes a little deeper than the AT Pro, has a target size imaging feature to determine small/medium/large targets and can be used with the EagleEye Treasurehound depth multiplier.

The AT Pro has target ID numbers and is fully waterproof.

They are both very capable machines.

I've heard the AT Pro is deeper per than the 2500, but I haven't used either.

I seen a you tube video also showing the AtPro going deeper than the 2500 . Makes me wonder what is so much better and why the 2500 cost $1200

I own a gti 2500 and its easy to work with. The only downfall is the weight. It hurts after a while.

Nope...$934. Maybe when it's sold with all the crap they put in the packages. The detector by itself is much less:

To the OP's original question, The 2500 is a great machine. Wayne was right on target with his comments.

You guys are all correct, the pricing is $934 or $1199 with the depth multiplier. My business partner used the GTI2500 with the depth multiplier this weekend to assist in locating some big coin caches.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I owned a GTI 2500 for over 5 years and it was the most over priced, underachieving detector I ever owned and 2nd worst I've used.
Loved my GTAx 1000 as it was my 1st detector and a perfect beginner model. Moved up to the GTI as it was the machine I eyed for quit awhile.
I'm not bashing, just being honest.
I just had the 2009 version, not the depth multiplier. I've never used that version and can't comment, but would imagine it would be deep.
I would really hope the AT Pro is better than the GTI because the GTI should of been priced at $499 max.
I like different detectors by different companies.
Love my Garrett Pro Pointer and not really into big money machines, but the new ATX looks interesting and love some of the features like the pole adjustment.
