Old post but when I googled this problem it brought this post up. I just got my AT PRO YESTERDAY and this rainbow thing is pissing me off! Garrett screens are small and crowded to begin with. Now with a rainbow going through it??? This should have been resolved by Garrett long ago!

I think most of them have that or will soon or later. All the ones I have seen sported some amount of rainbow on the screen.

Just moisture build up in between. It can't get into the housing as its only behind the face decal. Mine started as a small rainbow, now it's a streak of moisture that moves around if push on it. Been like that for 2 yrs. hasn't effected it. Still runs like new.

It's not a moisture issue. I believe it is in the plastic face itself. I just took mine out of factory packaging.

Yeah it doesn't need to get wet to do it. If you hunt in the hot sun it seems to get worse too.

Mine started off as a rainbow then turned into a moisture line right across the screen. Many guys have complained about the same problem, and yes it is a moisture bubble between. You can take off the top decal and replace it with a new one.

Oh that's just great!! Lol. It's obvious the AT is a great machine. However, Garrett's screens are probably the worst out there. Now add in a rainbow running through it! I will have eye problems 2 weeks into this machine.

I've had my At pro 4 yrs now and this started 2 yrs ago just as a small rainbow between the decal. Now it is much wider and longer.

Obviously is does not affect performance. However it is a shame it is that way. On a $600 machine no less. My old ace 250 was crystal clear for $200

I also see the rainbow, but I'm also wearing polarized sunglasses. I don't see it as much tho when I'm swingin', because it's all about the sound.

i just got my ATP Saturday. out of the box i noticed a little something but i did not notice it today at all.
today was the first day that i actually went hunting instead of messing around the yard.
i was very impressed with the machine. the depth that it gets is unreal!!

Found myself reading these forums because I too have the "rainbow screen"
Was still iffy until I read this, Bart says normal... My mind is now at ease.

Take off your sun glasses and the rainbow disappears. Of course, back in the 60's, it would have been a welcomed feature!:laughing7:
