I was wrong with what I saw on the back. I took some pictures and it is clear as a bell now. On the back it says: Imperial Standard. If I understood what I read they were made from 1820-1840. It likes 1 mark being an half an inch wide, 7/16th's ?. Sorry I have never been able to read a tape which is why I am not a carpenter. Do I need to clean off the front? Does it appear to y'all like there may be something on the front. I found this at a local battle site. How in the name of Pete do you clean these things? Thanks...d2
