First off I'd suggest you just knock out iron on the machine and dig everything else....the screen display is not an accurate account of what's under the coil.

Those rings in my avatar all id as pull tabs...lol.

I presume that you are using a DD coil. They tend to read bottle caps as coins. The iron audio will work, if the bottle cap is actually metal, and if it has some rust on it. Concentric coils give better reading on bottle caps as junk. That is true in most makes of detectors. That's one of the reasons I prefer to use concentric coils.

Oh sorry lol my bad it would have been the smart thing to let you know i am using a AT Pro.

At least on the ATP, bottle caps will give a distinct low-high-low signal if using Pro mode. This is described in the owner's manual.

It's not foolproof, of course. If in doubt, dig!
