As a die hard Fisher user, my current detector F75-LTD SE that I purchased in January of this year, I have always been on the look out for a good waterproof machine but did not compromise In depth. I recently purchased the new Garett TA Max end of October and have pulled 4 bullets and an Eagle A cuff button in a heavily pounded CW battle site in VA that we’ve been hunting for years.

The Eagle A cuff was a surprise as we have hit one section of this site so much that I was presently surprised to have dug this. I am still learning the settings and all the nuances but am very happy with the results thus far .

When the technology changes, and a different machine is then used in a heavily hunted site, I have always found new stuff comes out of the ground. It's not so much the site was pounded, it's that the machines that had been used there before had different characteristics than a different machine. This has been going on for a long time. One of my old sites had been pounded with White's machines, and when I took my Tesoro in there, it was like no one had ever hunted it before. Now your situation and mine are real treats. If I could I'd take the Deus there. I think it would happen all over again. The eagle A is especially nice!

Nice report! I hope the MAX continues to surprise you and you continue to get some great finds while you master it.:occasion14:

Back today at a Yankee camp in PA, and had a fantastic day with the AT MAX my 4th time out, dug 7 bullets; 6 drop .58s, 1 dropped .44 pistol bullet, 2 grommets, 2 unidentified pieces of brass that appears to be period. But the real surprise are 5 silver coins; 1 1908 Barber half dollar, 1 1925 standing liberty dollar, 1 1909 Barber dime on top of the ground, 1925 Mercury Head dime and a 1916 Barber dime. All signals were scratchy except for the Barber half. It read solid 91 on the MAX at only 2 inches. But the VDI and tone were too strong and clear to pass up. I thought for sure I had a soda can or Tennis lid. To say I was surprised was an understatement .

only 4 times out with the machine I am impressed, would I have found the same amount today had I been using my F75 LTD SE? I don’t know, what I do know thus far is when the MAX locks on the target there is no mistaken you have a target. Digging in PA where the soil was hot in mid 80s is the environment I am used to digging where I live in VA. Althoug got soul conditions and digging in zero mode, iron discrim set at 29 I felt very confident I was digging everything above 40.HH 7F62AA9C-3212-42E9-9D42-53ED32D0CD27.jpeg 7F62AA9C-3212-42E9-9D42-53ED32D0CD27.jpeg

My second day out with my Max produced my best and oldest find. It’s an 1817 large cent. Up to that point my oldest was a 1942 Quarter. I had found some relics dated to the early 1900’s but no coins that old. I found this in a small park 9” deep. The park is REALLY small and gets hammered. I’ve been there maybe 6 times with my Pro and it produced only a cool cross and 2 new clad coins. I won’t be able to really learn my Max until next spring because I’m in Ohio and winter will shut me down. Right now I have maybe 7 hunts with the Max and I love it so far. In those 7 hunts I have dug about $8 in clad from parks I hunted all year. My goal is new properties and new finds in 2018. If nothing else the Max has me really excited about the possibilities.

Great find! I look forward to using my new AT Max. I have the AT Pro and have gone back and forth on whether to get the Max or not finnaly pulled the triger on the Max hope it's as good as all the hype I've seen.
